In your email to WoC did you happen to mention that its been a house rule for sometime that clerics were supposed to use the weapon of their god as their primary weapon? That they used other weapons only occasionally? Its pretty shitty that your willing to walk out on us last night instead of working it out and then go and email WoC. I had some sympathy with you, I hated using a mace with Joaquin when I was playing him, but this whole thing has become a not so funny joke. What's happened to you lately?

It's never been a house rule... Dax once upon a time said that there'd be social consequences for not using a mace, so I didn't until I was thrust into the roll of being the party tank when Tiffany stopped showing up. So saying that it's a house rule is bull hockey. The situation was Frank said "I don't care what that book says, I'm the DM and it stands" which is a textbook definition of arbitrary. Secondly, I texted Frank and apologize to him and everyone else for walking out. It was a shitty situation and I reacted shitty. I asked him to pass that apology on. If he didn't I am sorry... It wasn't fair to everyone else to walk out. I just didn't want to waste everyone's time arguing, and that's all that was going to happen since Frank didn't care about my objections and I felt fucked over. In retrospect if I had it to do over again I guess I would've just made a new character and dealt with the rest later.
Lastly, and I think most importantly I'm very curious what "What's happened to you lately?" is in reference to.

Actually it has been a house rule for a while now, to the point where playing a cleric in an evil game I was forced to use a feat to buy exotic weapon profeciency sickle to use my gods favored weapon. Was I happy about it no, but since the rule has been around since the Del Rio Era (meaning when dax and sena lived there) I didn't complain too much. On pg 14 of the DMG it says "Every rule in the PHB was for a reason. That doesn't mean you can't change some rules for your game." That being said, maybe the way it was handled wasn't the right way, making a new character isn't the right thing to do either. The conditions applied to your character were temporary, not permanent

Firstly, house rules can't be expected to travel from game to game, let alone house to house... I'd never even heard of it to be honest with you. Dax told me that I would take a negative to social interactions with other Clerics of Lathander... That's the entirity of anything ever told me on the subject. All this is moot anyways because Frank was justifying himself by his interpretation of the PHB, if he said it was a house rule I wouldn't have been upset at his ignoring what the more relevant book said
