This week I took three vacation days and spent most of them visiting my sister.
She was fun to hang out with as always. I got to hear some really hilarious stories from her past dating exploits. We went to a huge bookstore and I picked up
Gentlemen of the Road by Michael Chabon for myself and
Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett and
Monty Python Fluxx for her.
I highly recommend the various versions of Fluxx to anyone who remotely likes card games. It comes in self contained decks, so it's not like Magic: the Gathering or Legend of the Five Rings. You play by manipulating the rules (usually altering the number of cards players draw and/or play during their turns) to make it more likely that you will have the winning condition (you can also change the winning condition). I've seen games last anywhere between 5 and 45 minutes.
When I got home yesterday this little guy was waiting for me:
It's an amigurumi warg (wolf-like monster from Dungeons and Dragons)that Roommate D made for me. He's about 4 inches tall at the shoulder. I love it.
