The trade worked out good. Last night we played Diana Taurasi with her over rated self. The Phoenix Mercury. Might I add, the refs were TERRIBLE against Detroit. Even the commentators had to speak up.
Anyway, we went down by 17 points. Turnovers were killing us. But we actually won. Kara Braxton came off the bench big, and so did Plenette Pierson and Katie Smith. Katie had 6 points but they were both big three pointers. She also played good quality minutes, with good defense, good passes, and great plays.
It was sad. We were waiting out back for autographs and there was Chandi. Why? We didn't know. After all, she should have been with her new team Minnesota. But she wasn't. She even hugged my Dad when he told her we'd all miss her.
Anyway, Katie's good for us. I'm at Detroit Shock's home page! Me, Bethany, and Alyssa are the Photo Of the Week, holdup a sign that says "Detroit Shock fans welcome katie Smith."
Tonight we play the Houston Comets. They just recently lost to one of the worst WNBA teams. BUT, they just traded for Dawn Staley, won of the WNBA's best point guards. However, Dawn is old, in her mid thirties and not healthy. Her knees are always hurting her. We Need this win.
The Tigers play the Mariners tonight. They SHOULD win, but they're like the Shock. You don't know what to expect. They could beat the best teams or lose to the worst. Besides, now that the Shock are doing good, I've kind of given up on the Tigers. They probably won't make the playoffs. I'll still watch them, though. ;-(
