Here's a thought:
If I become as smokingly hot as Ingrid Bergman-the-psychoanalyst in Spellbound, then everyone will listen to my papers, no matter how boring they are! In fact, being hot would make my real-estate value go up, up, up!
So! All I have to do is figure out some way to become incredibly good-looking by the time I have my first job interview. I'm on my way - I wore a sweater out to dinner tonight instead of a dinosaur t-shirt, and everyone noticed, mostly asking, "Since when do you have nice clothes?" I was careful to point out that technically only the sweater was nice, and that I was still wearing the same old grey pants and running shoes, but they couldn't be seen because they were concealed beneath the table.
Then I drank too much wine and ate expensive salmon, none of which I paid for. I wish that job candidates came to visit us every day!
