=(
Martina didn't get the job.
And her boyfriend's brother's first love died unexpectedly from a burst blood vessel in the brain.
I don't even want to think of someone I love dying on me suddenly and unexpected.
Not sure I could handle it.
Thankfully, she's not as down as she could be, and we caught up on the phone Friday evening.
In other news, I have become an employer it would seem.
A bit annoyed with Olly and Fred, over the pitch, I advertised for other camera people to work with doing some filming in LA.
I have been over-run with applications. About 25 odd now, and new ones keep arriving in my inbox every five minutes.
Some of the job applications leave me wondering: "Who are these people?" as you get some really weird responses alongside the good ones.
Is also weird how everyone seems to think working for me will "advance their careers", or be "just the industry experience I need"...shear right....But you already need to be inshape, or you won't survive. Do these people even know how manic a trade show like E3 can get?
Thankfully, I've had an interesting response from someone in the games industry too, how has already booked some nice high profile interviews, including one with Shigeru Miyamoto...
But whether I want to hire him freelance or not remains to be seen, as I'm really looking for someone to go 50-50 on this project, and I know this guy has other freelance commitments.
And then there's the people who have worked on The Apprentice, and Big Brother, also writing to me ( previous experience includes manning one of the surveillance cameras would you believe? )...and, blimey(!)...reminding me of Bev & Joey...someone who worked on the Busted:Year3000 promo!
=P I miss B at the moment, but I try not to write about it here. Suffice to say, I was blatantly a bit much.
I wrote to Risto about "The Feeling", and here's a copy and paste from his reply:
"yeah, I got your previous e-mail. I checked out the website and that's
2/3rds of Wurzel Miyagi.
Very cool that they've had a top 10 hit. It's really funny actualy since I
have heard the song on the radio many times. i just like many others who
knew of wurzel would never have made the connection. They are probably the
first uni band that I know to have gone top 10.
Funny how The Feeling are miles away from the drive to insanity .
I've been getting pretty busy here in LA. I've had the chance to do some
work at the Warner Brothers Studios here which has been very surreal. It's
like big film studio just like in the movies.
Even met Wolfgang Petersen(director) briefly."
....and I've left in the last paragraph, 'cos it's cool to show off what your friends are up to.
Anything else to say?
My shoes have died on me....the sole in the left foot has rolled into a ball, and despite trying to unstick it with a knife, it's just a mess....so need to go to town and buy a new pair of shoes.
Ammending the Innovation & Technology section of the DVD went well Friday night, after a false start earlier in the week, where none of the re-scripting made sense. Am currently editing the re-scripted part of the segment into the timeline, to see how it looks.
Still got Next-gen, Retro, and Intro to do, before the documentary is finished.
Okay, bye! =)
