Totally agree with you on Van Hellsing. It had promise and then it totally sucked ass. It kind of reminded me of the remake of Planet of the Apes when it came to the romance between the main characters. Totally NO chemistry and it, like the rest of the movie, felt more than a little forced. And what the fuck was up with the pod children of Dracula? I thought the movie had finally crossed over into AliensIt's interesting to see the lack of mythology that has developed in the US. Especially in the most wide spread form of story-telling, the movie industry. There was a time when the domestic heros used to be police officers of some sort. And then came the buddy comedy cop movies followed shortly thereafter by the dramatic cop movies which portray public servants as selfish and overall bad people. It seems like we've always got to make light of stuff like that and eventually tear it down. Why? I don't really know. I just know that there is a real value on "enlightening" the masses as to the "truth" of a situation. No one seems comfortable
