Upgrading the computer

Feb 07, 2004 14:30

So it's decided.

I talked to a technician about ordering some parts.

Unfortunately, he convinced me to get some parts that I felt wasn't necessary but the way I look at it, I won't need to get that later in the future.

- Intel Pentium 4 2.80GHz (800)

- Auriga Screwless Case Black/Silver (I wanted blue but there wasn't one)

- Western Digital 120Gb HDD 7200/8mb (He recommended 250Gb but I said no)

- 1Gb PC-3200 Dual Channel Kit

- MSI (MS6728) 865PE Neo2-FIS2R (Closest to my original motherboard)

- Sony Int. DRU510AK 4x DVD+/-R/RW

- Leadtek Geforce FX-5950 Ultra 256Mb (This is what he talked me into, I have little willpower to say no)

- Windows XP Professional

- 16x DVD with PowerDVD

- Floppy Drive

Total: AUD $2632. Looks like I'm going to be borrowing a few hundred more for software and games. Maybe Counter-Strike...
I'll accept PayPal if anyone has 10 cents that they don't want.

And I'm still waiting for this webcam, it's suppose to be here in a week.
