An Ode to SES...as today was my final day at the Special Effects Stages, after 8 strong years. It was my first gainful, and entertainment-oriented, employment in LA waaaaaay back in 2002 when I was down and out. Way too many stories to tell, so I will just let Kevin's poem do it for me:

So we have this woman at work (Universal) who has become scary in recent years. When I started there, she was cool, very gruff and surly (and attractive, aye). But funny and amiable. Then she kinda disappeared for a bit. She started working nights at Casinos and then at Fear Factor, so I didn't see much of her ( Read more... )

As coppertop pointed out yesterday (and hour before I found out...should have read her lj first), Universal is creating a Transformers ride. They just signed it after only a week of negotiations. And yes, Creature from the Black Lagoon: The Musical is seriously replacing Fear Factor, which replaced the unholy Spiderman Rocks...in the theater that once held the great Conan show. I am not proud.
