The smell of rain.

I am from Higüeral. There aren't any paved sidewalks there, there is hardly a paved road. Therefore, when it rains, most of it falls through vegetation, to the earth below. The think rainsdrops thump on the soil, leaving small craters behind, and something else

I remember the rain.

I remember when we sat inside your screen room, looking out into the drizzle. I think this only happened once--not able to go outside and wander around because it was wet.

The smell reminded me of being back in Washington--only, it was humid, and I loved the thought of actually going out into the rain. Often times it gets too cold when it rains up there.

Ah, nice memories. I miss that smell..
