I've mentioned this on my private journal, but since this has an impact on the Chandlers, I really need to drop a quick note on this journal.
Last weekend, my computer's backlight stopped working. Since my computer is a laptop, this is an inherently Bad Thing and I've had to make do with a clunky old loaner external monitor while I wait patiently for Dell to deliver me a new model (I'm well out of warranty, and seriously screw paying $300 for a problem that may or may not be fixable since my computer is a fossil. Four years in laptop terms means I should've put it out to pasture long ago.).
My issue here is that I will not have The Sims 2 on my new computer. I do not have access to my game discs and will not for the forseeable future, because my older brother has stolen them and done god-knows-what with them. This is disconcerting, because even though I'm on hiatus I've always had that security of knowing that if I felt so inclined I could just fire up the game and start work again.
So, yeah. TL;DR: My indefinite hiatus just got a lot more indefinite. But when I do get things running, they will be on a shiny new powerful computer with less teething problems than dear old Vera. Yes, I called my computer Vera. Yes, I did it purely for my own amusement. No, nobody else ever finds it funny.
