backlogs are fun!

Just got back last night from a fun trip to California. Spent time with the fam, but mostly it was all about going to the big reception for an encaustic painting show which accepted two of my paintings. Was a blast. I have to work on my schmoozing skills. Not so good at it, but of course, right when an old high school friend showed up to visit I was actually starting to get into the groove of the chatting. But I hadn't seen my old friend in person for something like 15 years, so opted to spend the time with her instead.

My pieces haven't sold yet, but seemed to get lots of positive reactions. The show is around until April 15, so there's still time! It was great to see all the beautiful work, feeling inspired. Which is good because this week I'll be busy trying to get some painting done. I've got a workshop this weekend with the only local nationally-known encaustic artist and then my mentor will be in town in a couple weeks. Need to have some new work to show them. Good times.

Which means more fic and art and fun sga things are building up that I haven't seen or read. I will have a fun marathon when I get a nice break. Good times.
