Review of the Year

Dec 15, 2009 18:34

Got this from media2wolf

1.What did you do in 2009 that you’d never done before?

Finished a semester with a 4.0

2. Did you keep your new years’ resolutions, and will you make more for next year?

Yes I kept them all. I lose a sizable amount of weight, fit into all my old clothes, even my custom tailored suits when I was 145lbs, and got into graduate school.

3.Did anyone close to you give birth?

No, no one that I know of.

4.Did anyone close to you die?

Yes a few people.

5.What countries did you visit?

Various Caribbean nations like the Bahamas, Cayman Islands, Jamaica, Puerto Rico, and also Mexico.

6.What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?

A more active social life.

7.What dates from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?

When I got accepted into graduate school.

8.What was your biggest achievement of the year?

Definitely getting into a competitive accredited graduate program.

9. What was your biggest failure?

Letting feels of insecurity and inferiority effecting so heavily.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?

Nothing major, I'm rather resilient against infection.

11. What was the best thing you bought?

A GPS. I have a terrible sense of direction.

12. Whose behavior merited celebration?

13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?

14. Where did most of your money go?

Well it's a complicated situation. I don't have any money per se, but rather get allowed money from accounts to ensure I don't spend anything recklessly. So every purchase practically needs to be authorized above limits and times they occur. Statistically most went into tuition.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?

Uhh, nothing in particular really.

16. What song will always remind you of 2009?

I don't listen to music a lot so I don't know of anything that will evoke memories of this year music wise.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
a) happier or sadder?
Happier over all, net gain.

b) thinner or fatter?
Thinner, end of last year I was 200. I'm 168lbs now.

c) richer or poorer?
Looking over family financials, richer. Dad earning 300% more than previous job and stocks are beginning to rebound.

18. What do you wish you’d done more of?

I wish I had been able to go out more and socialize and meet new people.

19. What do you wish you’d done less of?

Wish I had had a little less time spend worrying about my grades.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?

By myself.

21. Did you fall in love in 2009?

I developed friend based loves for friends I have met or gotten to know better, but have not fallen for anyone.

22. How many one-night stands?

No, never have, never will. Closest I could have is a friend with benefits.

23. What was your favorite TV program?

Fringe, hands down. Out of the country QI, very fun.

24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn’t hate this time last year

Not big on hating people, not a good emotion to have.

25. What was the best book you read?

Hmm, I think the House and Philosophy book I read. Was a cool mix of philosophy and one of my favorite TV shows.

26. What was your greatest musical discovery?

Didn't really have one.

27. What did you want and get?

Well I wanted to get into grad school and did. That was the only thing I really wanted. Never had many strong desires for anything.

28. What did you want and not get?

I suppose didn't get anyone I can get really close to and enjoy some kind of close relationship with. Maybe not a boyfriend but a good friend that actually lives here.

29. What was your favorite film of this year?

Hmmm, that's a tough one. I'd say maybe District 9.

30. What did you do on your birthday?

Had dinner with my parents.

31.What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?

My friend Tom living closer.

32. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?

Smart casual.

33. What kept you sane?

High amounts of patience and strong self-discipline.

34. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?

Can't fancy anyone famous really. I might like them or admire their skills, but physically I just cannot do that.

35. What political issue stirred you the most?

Not much stirs me I'm a mellow person. However the anti-gay marriage stuff that has happened this year has caused interest.

36. Who did you miss?

I miss my friends that I never see anymore.

37. Who was the best new person you met?

Hard to tell, had persons that were great when I met them and now are different persons entirely. But one person I think that I had never met until this year was mangusu.

38. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2009:

Keep your own priorities straight. Above all else, do not let the needs and desperation of others interfere with your own life plans.

39. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:

Jury is out on this one, don't listen to much music with vocal bits, or ones with vocal bits in English, they tend to be Italian or Latin.

Sorry about that, forgot how big that post was, cut it for convenience.
