Today can just DIAF.

First This:

IT WAS PERFECTLY SUNNY UNTIL AN HOUR BEFORE SUNDOWN TODAY! It's entirely possible that I'm more upset about this than is really warranted, but I am really fucking pissed about this.

Then there was ceramics. I finally lost my cool with that psychopath who likes to boss me around and tell me I'm going to die of radiation poison before next Thursday. I'll try to make this short and hopefully not look petty, but...

Each person who works in this studio has their own shelves for their ongoing projects. My shelf is not with the rest of the shelves. I said I'd take the one on the wall that's 90 degrees to the wall-o-shelves. That shelf is about 1/3 as wide and only slightly longer than the ones everyone else has, but I don't mind because I don't do things with wide footprints anyway. For whatever reason the instructor never labeled my shelf, like the others have been, but for almost a year it hasn't been a problem.

On Thursday one of the girls, who I get along with just fine, asked if we could switch shelves for a bit because I also have higher clearance than the regular shelves and she was doing this very tall bug-trophy-statue thing. I said sure, and she moved my stuff to her shelf and her stuff to my shelf. Today she finished the big bug-statue-trophy thing and switched us back.

At the end of class today I see psycho-woman moving my stuff around, none too gently and shoving it all to the end of my shelf so she can put her very tall weird-statue-thing on my shelf. So I say, "Can I move my stuff for you?" and she, of course is all, "Oh, is this YOUR stuff?"

I know I didn't have my tone anywhere near in check when I said, "Well, yes, seeing as this is MY shelf." But then I took a deep breath and said, "If you need the higher space, I can move my stuff down, just give me a second."

She doesn't wait and continues to move my stuff around. Whatever. Well, then I get done with the mugs I'm working on. They need to cure for a few days so I can do the final shaping so I put them on a board and covered them with plastic. Of course, now there's no place on my shelf to put them (I already had plates on the other half of the shelf, and some of my supplies) So I said, "[Z], since your statue is on my shelf, I'm going to put my mugs on your shelf until Thursday."

To which she snapped, "You can't keep them on YOUR shelf?" Well, no, obviously not SINCE YOU JUST TOOK OVER HALF MY SHELF! When I said something to that effect she suggested I put them up on a shelf well above my head. I nixed that pretty damn quick. I'm not going to try and get my projects up there when a.) I have a perfectly good shelf that I can see where things are - like if the board will be stable on a shelf not as wide as it is or if it's going to tip everything to the floor the first time someone bumps it and b.) she's quite the little bitch for having the nerve to use my space and then get pissy when I say I need some of hers. So just *no*.

Eventually the instructor stepped in, because I was getting more than just a little pissed, and moved a few things on that top shelf and had [Z] move her statue up there so I could put my damn mugs away. Geezus H!

She was on her radioactivity kick again today. Fortunately I had the sense to work in the other half of the studio so I could ignore her. Oh, and a little kid whose mom was judging a gymnastics contest in the gym wandered in and spend like two hours talking to me as I made mugs. Which, seriously, WAY better the 8-year-old than the idiot in the back.

Also, tonight is fucking cold. I was out on the lake for half an hour (with half of Chicago, I swear) and my hands *still* haven't warmed up and stopped hurting. And I've been home for 45 minutes.

And to top things off the ferrets have stolen the foot to my good tripod and I can't find it ANYWHERE.

I'm completely unfannish lately. I'm actually nostalgic for a ten-year-old fandom that had utter flaming ship wars... so, yeah, something's wrong with me. H50 needs to come back on or something. Maybe BH could actually *become* a fandom? I don't know. I'm watching like 2 or 3 eps of every old show I have and then getting bored and trying something else. (Anyone watch any Highlander lately? OMG the cheesy!)

Okay, going to bed now and hoping tomorrow sucks less.

photography, stupid people in my city, fandom, chicago, do not want, weather, bitch please, ceramics
