So it's that time of year and I've seen these popping up around my f'list, so I figured I'd toss my hat into the ring too.

As most of you have noticed, I've hit a spot where money is tight and getting tighter (and while that situation looks good to resolve in my favor, I'm finding out that it's going to take a lot longer than I thought), so a lot of what I'm asking for is practical, which is a little less fun, but a little more logical.

STEP ONE
# Make a post (public, friends-locked, filtered... whatever you're comfortable with) to your journal. The post should contain your list of ten holiday wishes. The wishes can be anything at all, from simple and fandom-related ("I'd love a Snape/Hermione icon that's just for me") to medium ("I wish for _____ on DVD") to really big ("All I want for Christmas is a new car/computer/house/TV"). The important thing is to make sure these wishes are things you really, truly want.
# If you wish for real life things (not fics or icons), make sure you include some sort of contact info in your post, whether it's your address or just your email address where Santa (or one of his elves) can get in touch with you. Your home address is not required!
# Make sure you post some version of these guidelines in your LJ, or link to this post (it'll be public) so that the holiday joy will spread.

STEP TWO
# Surf around your friends list (or friendsfriends, or just random journals) to see who has posted their list. And now, here's the important part...
# If you see a wish you can grant, and it's in your heart to do so, make someone's wish come true. Sometimes one person's trash is another's treasure, and if you have a leather jacket you don't want or a gift certificate you won't use - or even know where you could get someone's dream purebred Basset Hound for free - do it.
# You needn't spend money on these wishes unless you want to. The point isn't to put people out, it's to provide everyone a chance to be someone else's holiday elf - to spread the joy. Gifts can be made anonymously or not - it's your call. There are no guarantees with this project, and no strings attached. Just... wish, and it might come true. Give and you might receive. You'll have the joy of knowing you made someone's holiday special.

1. Business for my Etsy shop.  If you could help publicize me or if you see something you like... I hate asking for money or asking for *stuff*, but I do need to pay the bills.  I would *love* to be able to pay my bills via my art and craft work.  My show, as some of you noticed, didn't go off as well as I'd hoped, so... maybe I can move some of that stuff this way. :)

2. Ye Olde Amazon Wish List.  I've cleared off a lot of the stuff like DVDs and CDs and added things like ferret food and things for my camera (I'm trying to get my photography to be profitable.)  For the ferret food, I'm happy to take any size bag you'd like to send, but I do need it to be the brands I've listed (Evo Ferret and Totally Ferret Active).  Used anything else (because used ferret food would be less than helpful, you know?) would be absolutely fine.

3. Coffee.  Little one-pot packets, a can of Folgers, whatever... I'm pretty good to try anything once.  Unless it's that bizarre pumpkin stuff.  Not a fan of the pumpkin flavored anything. :)  Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts cards also will certainly be put to good use.

4. Ferret *stuff*.  Stuff for ferrets, stuff for people who love ferrets... anything.  Oddly, on that list would be Gerber's chicken babyfood.  My old little girl has two kinds of cancer and (for right now anyway) a bacterial disease on top of them which means she needs something called "Duck Soup", which actually has nothing to do with ducks, but is made from Chicken baby food, prescription protein 'gunk' and brewer's yeast. So, yeah... I need baby food for an old ferret. :).  For the human, clothes with ferrets/ferret sayings, figurines, stuffed toys... anything you can find would be fantastic.

5. Gift cards for Peapod Grocery, Jewel (local grocery store chain - I think Albertson's cards would work there, since Albertsons owns them) or even Target would certainly never go to waste.

6. Chocolate.  I'm trying to behave and order low-cost yet nutritious food (which is about as hard as it sounds), so if you'd like to feed my sweet-tooth, I'd love you a lot. ;)  Stuff from here in the U.S., stuff from abroad... like I said with the coffee, I'll try anything once.

7. Hawaii 5-0 (2010) stuff.  Icons, fic, vids, whatever.  I'm really into Steve/Danny, but team gen would be cool too.  Or NCIS: LA (Sam/G) or Austin and Santino.  (I can't believe the other slashers on my list weren't all over that show!)

8. Gift cards for Lush.  Or if you just want to send a 'thing' - Big shampoo and/or Veganese conditioner.  They're two things I've had to give up since the money got tight and I *miss* them.

9. Socks!  Anything warm, fuzzy, unique.  (Size 6 or 6.5 shoe if it matters.)

10.  On the off chance that someone out there wants to be ridiculously nice to me, I could really use an iPad to help me in my photography.  (There's a doo-dad that lets me put the data card on the iPad so I can see what I've actually caught while out in the field, so I don't have to wait until I get home to the computer to see if that shot *actually* looks as good as I think it does on the 2 inch screen on the camera... because, often, the answer to that question is a resounding 'no.')

You can email me at smallwaldo [at ] gmail yadda or PM me through LJ if you need my address (it's the same place I've been in Chicago for the past 8+ years).  If, for some reason, you want to be super sneaky, you can ask
master_chatnoir for my address. I trust her to screen out any psychos. :p

Oh, and one last little note if it becomes relevant, and you haven't figured me out yet... I'm not Christmas person.  I'm a Yule/General Winter person.  Thanks. ;)
