My life in a nut shell....

Apr 03, 2006 01:20

First of all, let me apologize for not updating in fricken ages! I have been harassed by enough people this past week, that I think it is about time for an update!

Everything in Orlando is fantastic! I love my school, I love my friends, I love my fraternity, and I love my chosen career path (so far).... God... sounds like I need to stop taking happy pills (damn... sometimes I really wish I had some LOL)

For those of you who don't know, I have pledged a fraternity (Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia). I am my pledge class president, and am proud to say it! The end of the semester is actually coming up quite quickly, and with it comes the excitement of knowing that(if I don't fuck up)I'll be a brother by the end of the semester.Along with becoming a brother of my chapter, I would also be joining the ranks of some of America's most Musicianly Men! I can only wait until I get the honor of being a fully fledged member of this brotherhood. This experience has already yielded some wonderful connections and friends that I probably would never have made.

On that note, I would normally introduce and ramble on about my best friend and brother in Sinfonia: RJ. But, since we have barely talked in like a fuckin week and a half, I don't quite know what to say about him at the moment. I guess like all good things, friendships have cycles... just like the moon, they wax and wayne. I guess, just being this close really accentuates the cycles. Whereas, if we lived far from eachother, and only got to talk on the phone and made random visits, the cycles would be less pronounced.

Now, on to better things! I interviewed for the Music Education Dept. at UCF, and was accepted on Monday,March 27 pending my audition on the following Tuesday. Well, I went in for my audition, and my trumpet sang like it was intended to. I was pleased with my performance, and so was my professor. He accepted me on the spot, and started telling me of his great plans for our studio next semester. We're going to be having a trumpet festival on campus next spring, and he also wants to take a select group of us to either Chicago or New York for Music Study.

On that note,  I do believe that that is about all I have to say. It is well past my bed time and I have Sight Singing bright and early tomorrow morning. Let's hope that this week is as fruitful and productive as last week was, and that my friendships will only get stronger and closer. Good night, good luck, and go team!
