Convergence 20 - VIVA CONVERGENCE!

I don't even know where to begin with this. C20 was an overwhelming success, far better than we had ever imagined. We had modest expectations, but we never could've predicted the outcome. We wanted to revitalize Convergence, and invested heavily into making it an event people wanted to come to, because we all believed it still has relevance even 20 ( Read more... )

If Patrick does, it and he gets someone like the Bella Morte guys who fit right in with us, that would be great. I have faith in Patrick as a Promoter, and someone who has been to several convergences. He's no dummy.

He probably wont do it though. I remember him saying he would never do a convergence, because it's too much trouble having to answer to so many people.

Now that we are much more experienced at the ins & outs of securing venues, hotels and such. If the bands turn out to be crappy, we can make a little mini-convergence inside the main event, stay at the same hotel, make our own little badges and still be part of it, while not spending money on crappy bands.

This has always been my philosophy. Our hotel numbers didn't really add up, because a bunch of people stayed at the hotel, but didn't go to the night time events. It cuts into the sales, but at the same time, it upped our hotel room count and we were able to renegotiates stuff like free wifi for the guest and increasing the number of staff rooms from 3 to 15.

That last part actually saved us a crapload of money, the equivalent of 48 badges. As long as people are part of the event it helps. The hotel was happy, the venue was happy.

Btw, we can also rent conference rooms in the official hotel on our own. There's no reason we can't, as long as there is a vacancy.
