Summer Refresh

Sparring was pretty brutal today. We know each other so well, that it's inadvertently choreographed. It looks cool, (as someone watching us put it), but it's not helping my skills at all. We need more people.

Lately, due to my schedule, I've been sparring more and neglecting other aspects of my training. I think I can easily develop bad habits from it, mainly because there are rules that convert the "art" to a "sport" . I toggle back and forth with this. On the one hand, it forces me to choose techniques which I would otherwise "leave in the toolbox", but I worry about "muscle memory" overriding what I've previously learned under my Sigung and former Sifus who were more "traditionalists."

I only had a bowl of strawberries & oatmeal this morning, so all my energy was completely glycogen reserves. I crashed so hard when I came home, but this perked me right up:

A handful of each: Frozen Strawberries, Frozen Blackberries, Frozen Blueberries
40g (1/4 cup) ground oat groats
28g (3tblsp) ground flax
1/2 cup chilled pommegranate juice
1/2 cup chilled concorde grape juice.

Puree in Blender. I Love eating plants!

Now, it's off to do laundry and pack. I see some of you ninjas tomorrow!
