back where I started this whole crazy livejournal

Hey everybody. I'm back in Tuscaloosa. It's been a long time. It feels longer than it's been actually, since I have been all over the place. Let's recap the places I have spent 2003 thus far:

January 6 - May 10: Mt. Vernon, Indiana
May 10-17: Here
May 17-23: Kingsport, Mom's house
May 23: Waycross, GA (Fat's house), with Kyle by way of Boiling Springs, NC
May 24: Jacksonville, FL
May 25: back to Boiling Springs
May 26-28: Birmingham, Aunt Emily's house
May 29-June 20: Greece (Santorini, Athens, Nafplio, Olympia, Delphi, Litohoro, Pefkohori)
June 20-23: Birmingham (congratulations Shannon!)
June 24-July 4: Alaska (Vancouver, CA, cruise ship, Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway, Glacier Bay, College Fjord, Seward, Anchorage, Mt. McKinley, Denali National Park, Fairbanks)
July 4: Knoxville
July 5-6: Birmingham

And here I am. One interesting statistic is that I have been in 12 different airports in the last month and a half. Also in Alaska I read two and a half books, "The Call of the Wild" and "White Fang" by Jack London, and also "Into the Wild" by John Krakauer about a kid who read too much Jack London and wandered off into the Alaskan wilderness and died. I have stopped that one temporarily because it has become quite depressing.

I am so lucky to get the opportunity to travel so much. I have learned a lot. I am pulling the scattered parts of me together.

Classes have started. Macroeconomics and Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering. I wanted to get a job but I will not have time since I am doing 20 hours of ChE research per week. Only problem is that Duane, my boss, is not here this week. I'm not getting paid anyway so I guess there's nothing I can do but maybe a little background reading.

Keeping with the traveling spirit, I am going to Atlanta this weekend (actually Cumming) to see Fat at his NEW new house.
