Lazy Sunday

I took my parents to the airport today. They get to go to Puerto Vallarta and I am staying home all this week to finish school projects and study for finals. No time for throwing parties even. Lame. Though-- This Wednesday is .31 cent scoop at Baskin Robins and Roxanne, Sara Beth and I already have plans to go buy or 10 scoops of ice cream and eat until we're sick. That's sort of a party.

Yesterday at Judo we were practicing a counter attack to tai otoshi. I still can't fall right so I threw out my neck. I just took a bath and read Kafka's Description of a Struggle so I am feeling less shitty. Also I am drinking a glass of Moscato out of my snoop dog cup (classy). I realize that it's only 1:00 but... I am a slight alcoholic and I'm in pain. Give me a break. Plus this wine taste like juice.

Dena and I went and had a drink at Trinity Hall on Friday night. I had a glass of Pear Cider (which was delicious, by the way) and she had a Hefeweizen. We also had some delicious Irish Queso and chips. After we finished we went and saw Smart People at the Angelika. It was okay. It kind of reminded me of a not shitty version of The Squid and the Whale. Like, most of the characters were pretentious and assholes, but they were at least still likable. Also-- It had a real ending, unlike The Squid and the Whale. Call me old fashioned, but I like it when movies have endings.

Yesterday after work RoxAnne and I went shopping at the Sam Moon shopping center. I don't know what it's actually called. We never made it to Sam Moon though because that entire shopping center closes down at 6:30--- Even on a Saturday, which I don't understand at all. But we went to L'Patricia which has ridiculous and cheap clothing. I tried on some high-waisted shorts that would have been amazing if I was about 15 lbs lighter. After I spend all this summer working out I'll go back and get them. RoxAnne tried on a bunch of stuff that was pretty cute (surprising for that store) but none of it fit.

After we went and saw The Last Kingdom, which was AMAZING. There is little I enjoy more than a good kung-fu movie. It wasn't what I was expecting, but I don't really know what I was expecting. It had a modern age Karate Kid feel to it. Like, Nerdy white kid who loves kung-fu and gets beat up. It was really good though. Jackie Chan also brought back Drunken Master-- AGAIN. Unlike Sylvester Stallone, Jackie Chan can bring back his old characters and it is still awesome.  Also- I think Jet Li is adorable. He was really cute as the Monkey King. The little white boy was kind of annoying though. He was supposed to be a kung-fu movie enthusiast except Jackie Chan was having him chop down weeds as kung-fu training and he was like, "I have been your weed whacker for two days, when are you going to teach me kung fu?" and I was like "HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN A KUNG FU MOVIE? THEY DO THIS IN PRACTICALLY EVERY ONE." And there was another scene where Jet Li was dressed in all white and masked and they thought he was evil--- and bad guys in kung-fu movies never wear white. But those are just technicalities that I have because I watch way too many movies.
