It's my ex-lover's birthday today.

Present or no present?

I suppose it depends on the *type* of "ex-lover" you, yourself, happen to be referring to, mate.

I still talk to him, but in that awkward I'm-not-really-over-you sort of way.

Wait, him?

Get the present.

Huh. Why do you say that?

Just do it.

Right, I'll think about it. Happy birthday, by the way.

You should get him a present, since you know it's his birthday. No one bothered to tell me about it, now I have to think of a gift.

...Don't get him chocolate sauce, whipped cream or cherries.

Yeah, I didn't know when his birthday was until I saw it on vu along with that picture of him and Pansy and Bulstrode in the city where he looked so. As it is, this could be my first time getting him a

I... wasn't planning to. Have. Have you done that?

He probably should have told me, but of course he didn't. Prat. I've never... oh wait I got him a Christmas present, I remember.

I... well, no. Not yet, but he has his fascination with muggle snack foods. You should have seen his reaction to Neopolitan ice cream, it was adorable.

Just, don't steal my idea is all.

He's also adorable when he's asleep with his glasses falling down his nose, not that he'd ever allow me or anyone else to refer to him as "adorable."

I tried to get him a Valentine's Day present, but Crabbe ate it.

Did the relationship end well?

If by "well", you mean "he ran off and then we shagged a couple of times afterward but I'm trying to put a stop that", then yes.

Right, er, well. Do you want to be on good terms, or would you rather move on?

Or do you still talk to them?

I. We're. Friends. Sort of.

I'll take a gift! Is it edible? Though if I take it, are you going to start telling people I'm your ex-lover? You're my best mate and all, none better, but you know how much I love the birds, don't you Harry?

Good lord, do they actively teach all Gryffindors to abuse their punctuation or is this just a skill only Potter and yourself were so unfortunately blessed with?

Better punctuation than animals and small children,, Malfoy.

I'm not even going to address the double-comma error you have there and simply leave it to the fact your intelligence was severely defective growing up. It is quite understandable considering you were surrounded by so many incompetent siblings.
