[Fifth year Hermione is dealing with the stress of the career choices wonderfully.

...Actually she's surrounded by colorful flayers and muttering repeatably to herself about the possible number of NEWTs that every career demands. Next to her, there is a huge stack of books. You may disturb her to put an end to this insanity or just - keep a safe ( Read more... )

[She jumps. There are flayers everywhere, but she'll just collect them into one organized pile]

P-Professor Lupin - erm - what are you doing in the common r - [but now she notices she's not even there, it's almost comical]

Evidently - [She looks torn between being horrified at younger versions of her teachers and curiosity - she'll go for the second one]

Excuse me, professor um - what is this place?

I guess if you're a good liar, it makes for an easy high mark.

A liar and a person who likes to waste time, obviously.

Not everyone thinks the classes are a waste of time, or else they still wouldn't be offering them.
There are real Seers in the world, you know, however rare they may be.

What NEWTS are you taking?

I doubt a real seer will need something as vague as tea leaves. Those who are born are seers simply have a gift, and those who are not cannot be taught how to do it anyway.

I suppose that would depend on my O.W.Ls - [now she just looks..worried] oh I know I'll make mistakes in Ancient Runes I just know it.

Not me. I'll be glad to drop it!

Harry! Oh I was just starting to worry - and I don't think anyone will blame you for dropping that waste of a class.

Worry? Is something wrong?

No - it's just - well it's quite unsettling isn't it? I was never in this room before.

[Lily shrugs. She was quite interested in divination, it was one of the only classes that involved no actual effort.]

Some people like it.

[So much disapproval over here]

I can't see what someone would like about it. Staring at a bunch of tea leaves and seeing death omens in them - ridiculous.

First of all there's no actual effort. Which is great. Secondly, my teacher is so kooky that she forgets to give us homework, which is way more than great. Thirdly, it's not all death omens. One time I predicted that there would be a lot of water coming my way, or something like that. Later that day, guess what happened. James and Al waterbombed me.

[She smiles weakly, trying not to be amused]

A lucky guess, wasn't it?

Not me. Divination is a load of rubbish and real boring.
