94 Road to Nowhere, Strangetown
It’s getting late, and it’s dinnertime for Bianca before another day at work tomorrow.
She and Goneril have gotten awfully close as of late. After taking the whole family feud out of the equation, Bianca learned that she’s very insightful, driven, even funny in a way the straight guy in a comic duo would be.
Not to mention very charming…
She couldn’t admit that to her face, though. "Am I falling for her? What if she doesn't feel the same way?"
Just when she was about to head for bed, the doorbell rang.
She opened to door to find Goneril, now in more Strangetown-appropriate attire, on her doorstep. “Oh, hey Gonnie. Come in.”
Goneril smiled sheepishly. “Sorry, it’s a little late. Miranda went out with some friends in her new school so it’s just me in the unit.”
“Oh, you’re welcome to come here any time.”, Bianca reassured her. “Sorry, I couldn’t get rid of the smell of this place, though.”
Goneril then whipped up a present from behind her back. “By the way, I got you this. I thought this would be perfect for your room.”
“Oh, how sweet of you. Thanks.”
She put away the present, only to find Goneril stood in front of her and kept awkwardly fidgeting all throughout. As if there’s something she wanted to say, but couldn’t.
“Something bothering you?”, Bianca wondered.
“Um, I do not really want to come across as a bit too forward just in case you didn’t feel the same way, but…I really--”
Bianca put two and two together, looked up and reached for her hands. “Is this why you’ve been quite antsy lately? If that’s what you’ve been worried about then…”
“I’ve been crushing on you all this time.”
Goneril sighed. “Are you saying that because you wanted to make me feel better?”
“Gonnie, what do you think I was doing to you at The Beehive last week?”, Bianca admitted.
“Oh, um…”
Bianca dived right in and gave Goneril that kiss she so craved ever since they’ve escaped from the riverside. It wasn’t even the forbidden love kind of thing she read in those tragic plays - it was so much more than that.
Goneril held Bianca close, taking in everything that just happened. “So...what now?”
Bianca couldn’t help but grin ear-to-ear, still in disbelief. “Wanna go for a late-night diner run?”
