On my way to work... revived

Jan 30, 2008 08:57

I haven't had a post about an on-my-way-to-work moment in quite some time, especially since I've been fairly unconscious while travelling to work over the last few months.  But today... well...

As the bus crested the West Hills, an air of calm overtook the bus.  Stark white powder covered the gravestones and trees in the Calvary Cemetery; the stone walls throughout that expansive field and next to the road all had a speckled white/grey pattern.  It felt like winter in 1776 to me.  I could almost picture redcoats and patriots firing at one another.

I've been really connected to the Cure lately, even though I've been listening to a ton of other stuff, like Astronomy Cast and newer music.  The scene outside hit me like a visual version of the album Faith.  I've also been contemplating war and its impacts on society, psychology, and global population control. I'm not going to get into it much here, but I felt peaceful [as the lyrics just piped into my ear said 'of the snow/falling'].  Coincidence?  Yes.  Will my mind try to make a correlation?  Sure.
