Is this thing still on? Anyone even read my LJ anymore? I don't know, I think the house is empty. Or maybe those who do observe prefer to watch me behind the mirror-window, and not have me know who's there watching or not. I have 3 blog pages, and hardly get any comments anywhere, but at least with Myspace you can see how many times your profile has been viewed, but still don't know who's been reading all about me.
Anyway, if there is someone out there in the LJ community who's still interested in the life of Brian Weingartner, then this is for you...
***The Cliff-notes version of Brian's trip to Germany. With BONUS material not included in his myspace blogs! Reader discretion is advised.***
My trip in Germany was really awesome. I saw a lot in Berlin, most of the main tourist sights of course. I stayed in an appartment in old east-berlin. It was a heck of a deal, and perfectly located near Alexander Platz. Made a new friend over myspace before leaving, and we met while I was there, which was cool. Walked around a lot and experienced the insanity of the World-Cup. I got a tantra massage too. That was quite an amazing, interesting experience...a pretty damn expensive one too...still wondering if it was really worth it. I went to a lot of museums as well.
After being in Berlin, I stayed for almost a week with my friend Aline, where lots of partying happened. First night was friends from the school where I went coming over. We drank a lot at her appartment, and then went out on the town where a music festival was goin on. In a little cafe I smoked from a water-pipe. Yes, I smoked. And I can say with certainty that I am even more anti-smoking than ever! I had a soar throat, lungs hurt, and sinus' feeling like shit for almost a week afterwards. The following night was one of Aline's roommates and his friends b-day party. Lots of people, loud music, and drinking there. The rest of the time was pretty chill. Then went to Herdecke back with some older folks who I met from playing in a church brass group. More parties in Hagen with friends. I went to Koeln and visited my old exchange program office, where one of my fellow 20th CBYX pals, Brian Gilliard was!! It was awesome seeing him again.
I went camping in Holland with the main group of friends I'd been hanging with the whole time while I was over there. After much driving and searching, we finally found a camping spot that wasn't crammed with people in a nice little town on the beach. *(slight flashback)* The night before we left I went out with Aline to see Pirates 2. Well, we ended up holdin hands somewhere during the movie... then some nice hugging and kissing goodnight afterwards before getting on our respective busses home. *(back to camping trip)* So, that little romance flourished between Aline and I throughout the adventures in Holland. It made things even more fun ;-).
My flight back to America was before the trip in Holland was supposed to end, so I drove back with another friend Philip who had to start working the next week. It was rough saying goodbye to everyone, but I'm sure I'll see them all again soon. A few days later the flights went ok, and then I arrived back in the States on the 3rd of August.
Well, I need to be at work in about 7 hours, and then classes as well. Yay for school starting!
