Title: Returning Something Borrowed
Author: thedorabangs
Pairing: YamaChii
Summary: After years of being together with Yamada, Chinen had finally enough. He wanted to break up with him for good. Yamada agrees under one condition. He needed to return everything Yamada gave him. From his kisses, to his headpats, to all those ‘I love you’s’ and eventually…. His love.

The radio was tuned in to some western broadcast that night; English lyrics they couldn’t understand filling the car. Chinen had his eyes out the window, on the countless blurry high-way posts they were able to pass by.

Forty-five. Forty-six…. Eighty-Two…? He lost count. A sigh escaped his lips.

It had been a long long day for them both. His muscles felt sore from all the dancing and muscle training they had to put up with. But they were getting the long due rest they deserved.

Finally.

Chinen couldn’t ask for any better rest than having him on his side.

He placed his hand atop the ones already situated on his thigh, giving it a squeeze.

All is good, is it not?

“Hmmm?” Yamada’s voice, deep and calming, rang in his ears.

He indulged in a few seconds to take in his features in fascination. From his hazel brown eyes that reflected the sincerity of his love to him, now focused on the road, the pointed nose that collided with his own each time they kiss, those plump lips that formed a thin, seemingly pouted line whenever he’d see him flirt unconsciously with the other members, the well-padded cheeks he every-so-often kisses as a sign of goodnight, his Adam’s apple that twitched the first time he saw himself bare on that scourging, passionate night; all of these were precious not because he was drop dead gorgeous, but because these all belonged to him. The memories embedded in every part of him made him more beautiful in his eyes than anyone else would ever think of. Chinen did his best to hide his smile; Yamada might make fun of him and so he opted to shift on his seat, “Nothing.”

As the car went to a temporary stop on a red light, Yamada took that moment to properly hold the younger’s hand, intertwining his cold fingers with his, “I see.”

He could only sigh in response, hiding his disappointment. He missed him. Chinen missed him. Yet all he receives is a two-word response after a full month of jam-packed schedules and cancelled dates. He missed the Yamada who would go on and on talking about nothing and everything. He missed the long-drive dates because he would have him all on his own.

Is it too much to ask for his attention?

What in the world is wrong between them?

It didn’t feel…. Right.

And when I told her I didn’t love her anymore, she cried.

Those lines rang in his ears, effectively breaking his train of thought. He had probably listened enough in English class, or talked too much to Keito, that he was able to comprehend those words.

Could it be possible?

He’s probably just overthinking….. isn’t he?

“We’re here,” The car went to a stop and his door opened. Yamada held his hand, showing the way to his house. He stood there, taking in what was happening, before it dawned to him that he was home.

“Thanks. Do you want to stay for a while?”

“Naah, I still have to drop by the konbini. Nee-chan wanted Oreos. So,” Yamada raised his palm, placing it atop the latter’s head, “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

I wanted you to stay. “Un, goodnight.”

Yamada turned to the car but stopped at his voice,” I-I love you, Ryosuke.”

He gazed back at him before letting their lips touch, “Goodnight.”

And when I told her, her kisses were unlike before, she cried.

There was nothing wrong.

But he felt otherwise.

That night, he slept in his bed in tears.

Because he knew they were falling apart.

AN: I dunno if I would continue it or not mainly because of lack of time but its been stuck in my head for quite some time now so yeah. But do tell me if you feel interested ^^

I write when I feel down. My feelings to thee I send. Shall all hit rock bottom I think it's best all to end. Unhealthy it is to bear such feelings. By Me, by the person, by anyone.

That is why one-sided everything of which i detest. forgive my ranting.
