Summary: Mio and Kaoru bond over twinstuff~

The past couple of days had been draining, to say the least. Kaoru hadn’t slept well at all since he got here, which was perfectly understandable, but ever since he saw those bodies…well, he hadn’t slept at all ( ... )

Mio perked up a little to the sight of the door opening, hopeful that it would be a certain ninja or perhaps even Nana...she hadn't seen the diclonious in some time, after all. It wasn't either, but she was still pleased. Kaoru...he didn't look as though he was fairing too well - understandable, the house wasn't the most pleasant place to be. Truthfully, she wasn't sure how she'd managed to get this far. If it weren't for Zetsu...if she hadn't met him...she didn't think she would have been able to ( ... )

It was true that Kaoru would never want his brother here. This house was dangerous and it was hard enough not having him here, but it would be worse to have him here only for him to end up dead. At least now he knew that Hikaru was most likely safely at home - alone, but home. Though if Hikaru ever did show up here…well for obviously selfish reasons it would make him feel a hell of a lot better ( ... )

Mio frowned a little to his statement, but gave a nod of acceptance all the same. If he really didn't think he could it was probably a bad idea to push the issue. Maybe she would offer to make something later. She wasn't sure about his culinary skills, but certainly he wouldn't object to having a meal made for him? She would probably ask Zetsu if he wanted some, too. That sounded kind of nice, actually. She hadn't actually had a meal with anyone other than Zetsu in awhile now...and she thought it might be good practice to introduce him to her new roommate as well. That much could come later, though ( ... )

Kaoru shook his head, handing the sandwich to her when she sat down next to him. Maybe later he would try to eat, but right now even though his stomach was furious at him, he couldn't bring himself to. Food seemed incredibly arbitrary right now. Whenever he got his appetite back he certainly would not object to having someone cook for him. The redhead couldn't cook to save his life, which was a problem right now. Any culinary skill Mio had would far outshine his own. All he could do, so far anyway, was make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

"I'll try to eat something later...just not right now." He offered her a rather halfhearted smile. At least...he would try to eat something later.
