Mio had been upset by the sight of the ghost boy's corpse as well, probably more than she should have been. She had a special kind of bond with that boy, one that most people couldn't have understand, and it had almost been more than she could tolerate. If Zetsu hadn't been there...she wasn't sure she would have been able to. Even worse was the thought, the distinct possibility, of eventually finding her...if that happened...Mio wasn't sure she could handle that. The idea was terrifying. She was lucky that Zetsu had been around, to be able to console her as he did. Even in his troubled state (she was starting to worry about him, too, with the condition he was in) he'd managed to calm her down, at least enough to where she was stable ( ... )

Alphonse still wasn't even aware of everything that had happened - was happening - to him.

And he wasn't sure what was drawing him toward that portion of the house. It certainly wasn't to go to his room; in all honesty, feeling the sharp, biting cold of what was surely a snowstorm, in the Greenhouse, should have been message enough to just go hunt down - find he mentally reprimanded himself on wording, innocent though it was - Lorenzo and stay with him again. It wasn't an easy task, anyway...his entire body was hurting by this point, and he was still having trouble (possibly more, even) walking properly. His jaw and joints (too many of them he once again realized) ached from the cold and from other things - but he felt he had to get to the other portion of the house, no matter what. It was important, somehow, even if he couldn't tell why it was - but he had to get there, for some reason ( ... )

The fight couldn't have been over too soon, in Zetsu's opinion; the cold was making him unnaturally sluggish and stiff, and he was tiring far too quickly to be natural. Nonetheless, he had managed to wrest away the remaining nurse's weapon, and had proceeded to beat her to death as quickly and thoroughly as he could manage--the damned woman kept trying to get back up, even after he'd thought he'd finished the job once or twice.... Finally, he straightened with a bit of difficulty, planting the pipe against the floor to help keep his balance. Hopefully this damned dizziness would pass soon, and his vision would get clearer; it was all starting to make him feel a little sick ( ... )

Mio flinched away more than once as Zetsu fought with the nurse, not wanting to see what was done, but finding that her imagination could come up with far worse things than what he was doing. She kept a firm grip on her camera, nodding to him as he questioned her. "I-I'm fine, are you...?" Zetsu was a good father guardian, he'd been able to make sure they didn't hurt her by taking the problem upon himself, but he certainly wasn't looking his best. She started to move closed to him, wanting to inspect him for herself when she tensed a little as Alphonse entered the room ( ... )

Alphonse heard both the voices now - and he did recognize them. There was Zetsu - the man he'd met a few nights before, and friend of Lorenzo - and there was Mio - the friend of his brother's, whom he'd met not that long before Zetsu. Both his friends - something in him told him that meant he should cool off, but that part of him seemed so quiet in comparison to this newer, unfamiliar part ( ... )
