So far, the day had not been a pleasant experience. She had woken up in the attic, only moments before the sun fully rose, with barely enough time to get out of the attic before she was burned alive. The last thing she remembered, before that weird dream, had been fighting all three of those hellish dogs, before one had come at her throat. Apparently, she had died. Apparently, she had been dead for more than a week, if her calculations had been right. Yet, she had woken up as if nothing had happened, fully healed, and clothes completely mended on the attic floor. It made no sense. However, Rayne had stopped trying to make sense of this house long ago.
She didn't know how long her body had been in the attic, or how long it had actually been since she had eaten, but she did know that she was starving when she woke up. Her supply of blood vials had run out long ago, and there were no monsters to feed on during the day. Even the stockpile of bodies that her and Zetsu built up disappeared without a trace, and Rayne didn't feel like going to Jonounchi for a donation. She wasn't in the mood for anything with testosterone today. That fucking dream And while she was sure that steaks and other sorts of raw meat in the fridge would have some sort of blood in the packaging, Rayne also didn't fee like wasting such an amount of food to simply gather the liquids that came with it. To her knowledge, it only left one option, and for the first time since being in this house, she was glad for the greenhouse. Even if it was one big deathtrap of sunlight.
Having hurried to the bedroom, which was still surprisingly there, to retrieve her cape, the dhampir had been extremely relieved to see that Namine had made it through the night alive and unharmed, if not a bit worse for wear for being stuck in the room for so long. She would have to later make a mental note to stockpile non-perishables in the bedroom. Really, it was something she should have done long ago. Extremely thankful that Namine hadn't seen her as she was the night before, Rayne had invited the girl along to help her find her food substitution. It had been far too long since her and the girl had spent some time together, and in a way, spending time with Namine would help prove to herself that she wasn't nothing but a monster on the inside.
At least that fucking collar was gone.
"I'm not sure what kind of bag or container this stuff will be in." Rayne said as she cautiously looked through the supplies in the greenhouse, careful to make sure that her cloak stayed in place to protect her from the sunlight streaming through the windows. While the temperature and season change hadn't passed her notice, she wasn't going to risk being in direct sunlight. Perhaps, one day, if it was completely overcast... "But it's called blood meal. It's basically dried flakes of animal blood, and will probably look exactly like that."
