His voice was soft, barely above a whisper. "Yes. It's just starting. The sky is barely pink, but it's starting already. It's snowing. It's piling up in banks and drifting against the house. It's strangely beautiful. Things shouldn't be pretty here, but they are. It's weird. If they wanted to break us, why give us something to enjoy as well? I can see some of the other islands." It was beautiful. The window under his cheek was cold and oddly soothing against the heat of his face, comforting despite the biting chill. This was real, wasn't it? This had to be real, not just a memory he had made up. Not just something he had dredged up from that horribly awful wonderful moment of coming into existence.

"This room has heat. It's the only one. Everything else is broken and wrong, but this room has heat..." His voice was soft, lacking any sort of emotional reaction to the words. "It's weird, isn't it?"
It was really a moment of the blind leading the blind. But he needed someone to confirm that it wasn't just him that was wrong, the situation was wrong as well.
Luffy pressed up under Break's hand, seeking petting, perhaps, or trying to drag the older man towards one of the couches while Watanuki looked out the window. He whined faintly, tail-tip brushing against Break's ankle.
