Zetsu, for his all his love of plants, had spent more than his share of time in the greenhouse recently; it was nice to bask in the sun and look at the rest of the plants. They were almost kin, after all--certainly not brothers, but a group he liked to feel he was a part of, accepted and welcomed by the teeming diversity of flora everywhere. To spend time among them was peaceful and pleasant, but all good things had to come to all end--or at least, be put on hold. Two of the doors here led directly inside, and he wanted to try them.

The melted door was first; he couldn't help but wonder just what had melted it in place so. A fire jutsu, perhaps? Red XIII's materia? Possible.... but unlikely. Nothing else they had done had so much as scratched the walls or windows. But you couldn't build a door so that it was already melted.... So how had it happened and why? Maybe the glass here was susceptible. Either way, Zetsu reached for the knob, hissing in pain and hastily withdrawing almost as soon as he touched it. His hand was already red and stinging, pulsing with pain from a heat he'd noticed, but hadn't thought to attribute to the door until just now. Wincing a little, Zetsu flexed his hand and made the proper seals, trickling a bit of healing chakra into it to relieve the burn. Well, that door was clearly too hot to touch....

The other door deserved a try as well. Zetsu approached it, noticing the ice and frost with considerable curiosity--it reminded him of the way the knife block had frozen over in the kitchen. Still, that had been mild, whereas this had been severe, obviously--did things just spontaneously freeze around the house? Zetsu was surprised to find himself shivering a little as he drew near enough to try the door; despite the warmth in the greenhouse, the door and the space immediately around it simply radiated cold. He reached for the doorknob again, more cautiously this time--and pulled back as soon as his fingertips had so much as brushed it, cringing. No damage done, not from such a slight contact, but already the whole of his fingers were tingling with icy numbness. Odd....

Zetsu flexed his hand again as he turned away, not caring to end up with frostbitten leaves by attempting to force the door open; Machi was spotted in the doorway, looking at the greenery. His temper had cooled considerably since the night before, and though the doorways were disappointing, Zetsu supposed he could at least make an attempt at conversation. "Good morning, Tobaye-san. How are you feeling?" The question wasn't even meant ironically.
