Characters: Machi Tobaye, Zetsu, Simon the Digger
Setting: Green House, various
Time: Day 002, Mid-Morning
Summary: Machi meets Zetsu again
Warnings: Smiling! This is serious business.

Machi had spent significantly longer in the shower than he'd ever spent before, trying to get the grime off his skin while holding soap in his left hand, something he was not accustomed to doing. It was a disgusting process, and he was relieved when he was clean. The pianist had scrubbed his clothes as well as possible in the sink--thankfully, they were just lightweight cotton and not something more delicate, like Lamiroir's costume, but the remains of the monsters had left permanent stains that he'd had to leave where they were. That was fine, though--his goal had been to be clean, not presentable. After they'd dried enough for him to wear (the fabric was still quite damp and stuck to him uncomfortably, but it would do, he didn't want to spend hours sitting in the bathroom), he made his way back to the Grand Room, pausing to play a small, simple tune on the beautiful piano. He had to use mostly his one hand, using his right hand only to hit the odd key or so, which he did carefully. His hand was feeling better now, but he didn't want to do anything horrible to it while it finished healing... however much it could. It was saddening and a little frustrating to be unable to play the way he wanted to. The tune was just some small thing he'd heard somewhere, though--Machi played what he heard, not what he read, and if there had been sheet music on the piano it would have been labourious for him to try it.

It was also weird, somehow, to have such a wonderful instrument in a place like this. Good, though, to be able to soothe his nerves on it--Machi enjoyed playing the piano more than anything else, and early on he and Lamiroir had communicated as much through their music as they had in words. Something about playing it brought raised his spirits and put him at ease, even now. It was natural. He supposed he'd become used to being able to play, now, and wondered vaguely if this was somehow connected to everything. Were there even connections? But he had to leave the instrument, slipping through the newfound doorway, where he was immediately hit by an oppressive heat that made his wet clothing cling to him stickily--moreso than before--and a vision of a lot of green. He pulled his sunglasses down and stared, awed.

...plants. And so many! He'd never seen so much greenery indoors before, even when Lamiroir had sung in the arboretum in France, although touring the grounds had resulted in many beautiful sights, even through sunglasses.

What was a place like this going attached to a house like this one? And where had it come from? He'd heard the construction noises, but...
