This place hadn't started grating on him yet. The true horror had yet to sink in. He hadn't been forced to comprehend that he was trapped trapped like a fly in a spider's web. The door wouldn't budge, his portals wouldn't take him very far- all the signs were pointing in an obvious direction, but he wasn't going to sit around and take it. Axel wasn't going to take the easy answer here. Not now, not ever.

He had abandoned the two males in the entry room, having little desire for their company or protection. Sure, he didn't want to get ripped to shreds by some impale-happy bodies, but neither did he want to be confined to a room with so little air.

His ribs were screaming that he curl and up die somewhere, anywhere, take a breather and call it a night. Like he could with all the things he had heard about. Sleep and turn his backs on these things that had the likelihood of destroying him? His wandering brought him farther east through the mansion, and he frowned up at the ceiling and the clouded spinning shadow overhead. What was up with that?

The room looked empty enough, until blurry images flicked across the ceiling, trailed by voices. His jaw fell a little as he stared in puzzlement. Were they who he thought they were? The Keyblade brats? But what were they doing on the ceiling, here, of all places?

He hung back, in the doorway, paralyzed by his current lack of understanding.

The sound of footsteps, rushing, running towards and up the stairs had him jerking his head in that direction. If he had a heart to beat in his chest, it would have been racing in alarm. Chakrams materialized in his hands, before he could stop himself, and he slumped when he realized it was only a girl.

A girl he wouldn't have recognized at all, with the way she looked now (filthy and blood-matted), if she hadn't spoken up.

Whoa, whoa, whoa! He hadn't thought a princess of heart was capable of that kind of anger. Wasn't she supposed to signify light and puppies and everything that fell beneath it? A heart so strong, it was practically void of darkness. A soundless gasp tumbled through his lips, watching as she dug her fingers into her hair, clawing into her scalp from the looks of it.

The growl that erupted from her lips echoed off the walls and he looked around to see if anyone else was observing her behavior. How long had she been here, he wondered. Last he heard, she was on Destiny Islands, her world. Maybe things were more connected here than he had initially thought.

Axel stepped out of the shadows and took a few solid steps, making them heavier than usual, because he wanted her to hear them. He wanted her attention- for her eyes to be on him. Bad things happened when he wasn't demanding the spotlight.

If he had a conscience, right about now, it would be schooling him in a little thing called compassion, but he couldn't be bothered with something as trivial as that!

"Hate's such a strong word," he crowed, announcing himself to Kairi, who more than likely wanted to be left alone at a time so tragic as this.
