Characters: Machi Tobaye, Kairi, possibly otherwise Open? Setting: Grand Room Time: Early Day 9 Summary: Machi did not hallucinate Kairi, surprise, surprise. Warnings: None?
It... rang a bell. A distant, faint bell, but one that rang nonetheless, deep in the recesses of his memory. Some things clicked into place, impressions and a recollected... confusion. He did remember, though, if barely, and he stopped her with a hand, then shut his eyes for a second, trying to catch the thin, frayed ends of memory. He didn't have much, most of it was nonexistent, lost in the haze of blood loss and the lingering traces of shock. What he did recall was... wrong--not really, but horribly twisted and distorted; for some reason what he remembered was not her, not a Kairi but green, and a lot of nothing and... Naminé, somehow... he... Naminé.
“...okay.” His voice was toneless and blunt, but he opened his eyes again, looking at her critically with pale blue eyes. He didn't entirely believe her, but there would be enough time to test that... he studied her features for a second, wary and suspicious, then looked away, turning away to stare at the wall, silently, comparing faces in his mind--one relatively familiar, one new... or it might as well be. Then suddenly he turned around again and met her eyes with a flat stare.
