Wonderful weekend, but annoying Monday...

Good weekend. Saturday, I had a fairly 'walk-in-the-park' day at work, and made it to E's b-day party, which was tons of fun. It really hearkened back to our parties of olden times, where everyone got a little bit drunk and had a helluva time. Got pretty tired, actually fell asleep at the party at some point (which a few people pointed out to me later - I'm so old!), took Ms. azhureskye home, and went home myself.

Sunday, I woke up around 10ish, futzed about the apartment for a while. Went back to take a nap, and overslept a little bit. Went to Jenjen's to pick her up on the way to getting my Nana for a Grandparents' Day dinner. Met mom and dad at Applebee's, and had a nice family dinner. Afterwards, Jenjen and I went back to her place to meet up with tcallahan and shelleypro to watch Spaceballs' director commentary (which, surprisingly, sucked) - and the new Season Premiere of Family Guy (which was fucking hilarious!)

Today, I woke up and found an easy day at work. Here's what bugged me, though... there's a guy at work who was technically 'promoted' to Hub Leader (which means he's in charge of all the techs in the area). The usual job responsibilities that come with this position are filling in when techs fall behind, and helping out when the unexpected happens. One of our new techs was scheduled to start today, so K (the Hub Leader) scheduled him a light route (5 jobs). He then complained about having to give himself the day off. I was like 'whatever'. After I left the office with 7 jobs, K called me (about 10-15 minutes away from the office) and told me to come back and pick up the 5 jobs he'd given to the new tech, because he wasn't able to fulfill the requirements to start the job today. I asked him why he couldn't do the jobs himself, since he had scheduled himself the day off and had already complained about having to take the day off (he's scheduled to have this Thursday-Saturday off for some wedding or something). He had the nerve to bitch me out for not rolling over and taking the extra 5 jobs. He then hung up on me and foisted the 5 jobs off on another of our more wishy-washy techs. I was VERY annoyed by this, but I'm afraid if I complain to the big boss, I'll just be written off as a whiner and K will just get away with it anyways.

Anyhow, it was an excellent weekend, overall. I really had a good time with my friends. I'm glad nothing was able to get me down. I needed a weekend like that. :-D

Signing off,
Michael
