The rest of the Scotland photos.

IF you missed any of the rest and would like to see them, they are all public entries and are under this tag: http://thedarkcrystal.livejournal.com/tag/scotland

The last photos left off on the way to Inverness. After we arrived there we attempted to go to Loch Ness as per our original plan. We then ascertained that there was only one more bus going there that day, and this bus would leave us stranded in the dark for hours while we waited for the last bus back, and if we missed that bus we would also miss the last train back to Perth. It seemed more logical to just explore Inverness for the day, but this was stupid, stupid logic. I took these two photos of some kickass mer-architecture, and then the day really took off.

We decided to go to the castle while we were there, so we went back to the train station to look at a map. And then some asshole backed his car right over Steve's foot and then proceeded to drive off. I watched the whole tire go over his foot like it was in slow motion, and I probably panicked about it more than he did. Then we wandered around for about ten minutes trying to find a place to sit that wasn't covered with threatening drunk people. Once we achieved this I looked at his foot. Somehow it wasn't broken or even all that swollen, but a fucking car had run over it so it wasn't exactly in perfect condition. Steve decided that he was okay to at least walk around a little bit, and I decided that this was okay with me as long as he told me honestly if he couldn't handle walking on it anymore. We went to the natural history museum, which was actually pretty cool. As long as you avoid the elevator. This is a beautiful violin that they had there. They also had many other beautiful and interesting things which did not photograph as well.

Then we went to the castle, which was cool to see but freezing cold and rainy. There were also a couple of teenage boys who were, for some reason, trying to scale the walls. The view was pretty, so we sat down and looked at that until we got too cold.

Then, to top off our eventful day, we went into a music shop on the way back to the train station. Then we went back to the train station and tried unsuccessfully to find something for dinner.

Steven, of course, still managed to look gorgeous even when he was very unhappy and had a smashed foot.

His foot did get better. Very, very quickly. A little too quickly. I think he may have a bionic foot.

We went to Pitlochry a little after this. Despite their horrifying version of a greeting, it was a very beautiful place.

Overall.

It was nice. We walked by the river, played with sticks, and never expected the horror that awaited us. This is Steve wondering why I am taking a photo oh him playing with a stick.

The Horror.

It was still beautiful, but, I mean, wow. It's... well, you saw it!

There were also swans.

And ducks.

And Fouling.

And Beauty.

This is back in Perth. I don't think he's had his V8 today.

The additional Horror of the Bank of Scotland lady. She has the neck and arms of Satan. Overall, when I think of it, Scotland is really a terrifying place.

But the only really awful part, aside from the foot-crushing incident, was leaving. This is the sun out of the bus window on my way to the airport.

And why leaving was so hard.

A few pictures of Glasgow.

Steve has a wonderfully expressive face. This doesn't really require a caption, and I'm sure I looked much the same.

A female toilet! I saw this after I went through the gate. It didn't amuse me to a great degree at the moment given what else was going on, but I got a picture of it anyway.

And her male counterpart.

On the plus side, Steve came here two weeks after this. I hate leaving this post here with me leaving because leaving was so awful, but I don't have time right now to prepare and upload the America pictures. Looking at the time, it's already taken me an hour just to make this post! I'll post pictures of his visit here at some point. I'd like to soon, but we'll see what happens.

photos, i love steve, scotland, hahaha, steve
