Bitches

This is a quoted section out of one of my sister (minuetcat)'s entries. I'm certain she won't mind, and if she does then we can duke it out when she visits tomorrow.

This echos my own thoughts exactly. The only thing I would add is that it's not just long thoughtful entries that are ignored. It's also short thoughtful entries. It seems like anything important or real I post here gets little or no response, but my whole friends list shows up to discuss my Deanna Troi quiz.

1) The fact that short, stupid, pointless entries tend to recieve countless comments while thoughtful entries I've worked ever so hard on and am infinitely proud of, get few (if any).
This seems to be the thing that TONS of people have pointed out and absolutely hate, and I do as well. Either people don't have time to comment, don't want to put the effort into reading longer entries, or are not drawn to leaving comments which require any level of thought...whichever one of these it is, I honestly can't tell in most cases. I expect no one to comment often, but the fact that this trend never ceases to resurface is very upsetting to me.
Does anyone have a guess as to why this happens so often?
