mum and prague

my mom came thursday but with work and classes i first got to see her late that evening. a word about my law exam: super hard but i still got an 84 which is good for that class. i also got an A- for my film midterm which i bullshitted through.

it was like christmas: 2 pais of new running sneakers, new running shorts, new running tops, socks, cream, paul & joe sweater (which i have worn like 5 days in a row), orbit gum, shampoo, etc etc etc.

prague was really pretty. it's a nice strolling city. and while doing just that, we happened to catch the yann arthus bertrand expo that was on the river's edge one night. it was perfect and unexpected. the food was surprisingly fantastic, and cheap! who would've guessed goulash could be so good! i didn't spend any money since there was nothing interesting to buy. their big things are garnets and crystal..great. and their clothe and shoes are just hideous. eastern european fashion has a certain cheapness and tackiness that just ruins any type of shopping experience there.

it was nice having my mom around for a week, but she did get on my nerves more than a few times. i guess it's that close-quarters syndrome. being on my own, so far from home 11 months creates this distance that when broken, becomes almost unbearable. i know she means well but i found myself persistantly rolling my eyes and making snotty comments under my breath. i'm so mean!!
