i was about to sneak out early on friday and went straight from work to leakhena's. lamine's mom was over, who is super nice, but so exuberant. she reminded me of pierre's mother, and i frankly do not know how either nicole or leakhnea can handle the dynamism of these woman for more than an hour. i was exhausted after 10 minutes! ahh french mothers!

so guillaume isn't being shipped off to lebanon. tant mieux. but it's not like i've seen him recently anyway. blah. just when i start to get attached, sortof, i start to have doubts. well when i talked to him last it was pretty much because of work and money. i mean, his lifestyle doesn't really make things easy for a relationship. do we even have a relationship??

saturday i running and tried to do some sort of speed workout. i did 4 big loops around the canal and the bridge which i guess is a good 800 meters? not sure. anyway, it was tough to motivate myself..furthermore, without a stopwatch!! bah!

i went food shopping in the chinese grocery store again..i'm totally hooked. it's cheap, the produce is amazing, and i can find things that are impossible anywhere else. they even had fresh thai spring rolls, my current obsession!

i was supposed to see a movie with lamine and leakhena but her cousins his friend were over and it was hard to get the group to move. i saw "brick" which is a small independent american film. it reminded me of "a clockwork orange" because the dialogue is so bizarre and frankly i found myself reading the french subtitles cuase i couldn't understand! it wasn't bad..but wasn't great. i did another double-header and caught a second movie right after. "miami vice". so not worth it. thank god i'm not paying for each movie cause  i would have been really bummbed to have paid 10 euros for this piece of crap. the only decent parts were the beautiful cars. other than that, the dialogue was cheesy and predictable (what else can you expect from a big hollywood production??) and the storyline mediocre. really, i kept looking at my watch to see when it was over.

sunday i did a 7 mile run. then i went to leakhena's cousins' near trocadero. i came late so i unfortunately missed some good cambodian cooking! anyway i ended up eating leakhena's famous boulognaise pasta afterwards. yum!

i was so stressed/bummed out about work yesterday. i was really not in the mood for any of it.  i might have given an attitude in the morning too. luckily after a good lebanese lunch and some haggen dazs icecream i felt better and was able to get through the day. that's also probably got me though another 7 mile run after work even though i was thinking of either taking the day off or doing on like 3-4.

my hip hurts. blah. so i'm doing like 25 miles a week. that's not bad considering like a year ago i was doing..0!! even 6 months ago i was happy if i got myself out 2-3 times a week doing 3 miles. so this is an improvement i would say.

today i have so many little odd-and-ends to get done:
-mend clothing
-pick up dry cleaning
-paint nails
-do blood test (maybe tomorrow morning)
-change gyno appt.

wow..i guess that's really...nothing!

i bought a chin-up bar from ebay. not i'm regretting it cause i'm thinking it will just come crashing down as everything else that's fastened to my wall does. super!! speaking of apartment, i'm going to ask my landlord for a new fridge since this one is really on it's last legs and since it was in the contract, she is the one that has to replace it.

eric emailed be back about working in london and he definately things it's worth-while. they are definately more business-y and just more efficient in so many ways. i literally laughed out loud when i read some of the expressions his co-workers use, but then again, he said the charm of the accent wears off quickly. accents don't to much for me anyway. but yeah, the work is good and so is the pay. more dynamic market in general. unfortunately living expenses are so high..and it's in another country..and i woudln't be speaking french. well, it's something to think about, definately.

things i need to buy: i use the term "need" lightly here..some things my mom will bring over
- t chisato sweater dress on ebay
- new headphones for ipod (mom)
- prada plexi watch
- cape/blouson ike fall coat
- nike-ipod sensor chip for sneaker
- gap skinny jeans (maybe mom)
- viktor & rolf flowerbomb perfume (just read that V&R are the new H&M designers this fall)
- new sports bras and shorts (mom)
- new running sneakers (maybe mom)
- stick perfume

i just got back from lunch at the restaurant where the french waitress is soooooo rude. i though the first time was a fluke, maybe she was in a bad mood i thought, maybe she had a bas customer before us. nope. she was the same this time. even worse. grrrrrrrrr.
