Geeks Rule, on TV anyway

The fact that The Big Bang Theory is the top rated comedy on TV leads me to believe that a surprising number of people don't mind having their intelligence insulted. Of course, finding out that the actors don't understand big hunks of the dialogue either gives me hope for myself.

And, where else will you find a show that guest star's Stephen Hawking, Brian Greene, and, uh, other famous scientists that I am too lame to have heard of. Like most of the audience, I definitely know and love other guests: Sarah Gilbert, Laurie Metcalf, Christine Baranski, Leonard Nimoy..... Sigh. I guess I am equally fascinated that neuroscientist Amy Farrah Fowler is played by an actual neuroscientist, Mayim Bialik. No wonder the scenes in which she is slicing brain sections are so believable.
