Yesterday, I just happened to see an ad on Oberlin Classifieds for a 12" G4 iBook for $200 (and it included a lot of stuff, too).
I went to check it out, and it seems pretty solid. It needs a new battery, which I ordered online for $77. I'll also need to upgrade the OS to Tiger, but that will give me a solid excuse to get my disc back from Eddie.
This is all very excellent, as I tend to think my 15" Powerbook is too big to be very mobile, and I wish I could carry my computer around with me more. Plus, I've been sort of planning on getting a new computer after I graduate, anyway.
So, since I'm going to have an adorable little iBook, I'm going to sell my adorable, sleek, slightly-larger Powerbook. It's worth around $550-600, I think, so that means I can upgrade the iBook, buy Dreamweaver and iLife and come out evenish.
So, if you know of anyone who wants a 3-year-old 15" G4 Powerbook with a 2-year-old hard drive and 1-year-old screen, case, keyboard, mousepad, disc drive (pretty much everything... I think the only thing that is original is the battery) that comes with Microsoft Office and just short of four months of AppleCare, let me know. Timmy's going to buy it (on a payment plan)!
As for jobs, I'll be working at the Apollo this summer, hopefully designing a website for Camden Township (I need to write up a proposal for that), and as of today, maybe working for the landscaping company for which Jason and Donna (and probably Lisa) work, doing computerish paperworkish, budgetish, schedulingish stuff. As part of my argument for why he should hire me, I told Shawn that if he has three out of four of the Parrish kids working for him, he might as well have the fourth (aside from my being excellent at alphabetizing, computers, budgeting, and the like).
I can handle taking two classes and working three jobs, right?
