Since I last updated, I:
- Hosted Greg, Jeff and Genette in Paris.
- Finished up my lab work in Cachan.
- Went home and did nothing for a week.
- Visited Jeff's new place in Delaware and Genette's new digs in Philly.
- Grew up a little bit more.
- Returned to Los Angeles.
- Heard some wonderfully shocking tales from various friends about their summer escapades.
My time in France was well worthwhile, but that particular kind of laboratory work is something I'll be thrilled to never have to do again. I met some interesting people, but unfortunately language barriers and time constraints kept the socializing at a cursory level.
Genette has a nice, spacious (for one person) apartment in Philadelphia, close to campus and not too far from downtown either. With a G-sized fridge and all! We're sticking it out together now in spite of the going-to-distant-schools thing. I'm an awful person for giving mixed signals so much of the time. Su and I went to a party last night. I bought a bottle of Pinot Noir at Smart 'n Final today. I have matrix analysis at 8:30 tomorrow. What a strange world.
So I'm left wondering how to make the most of my last year of undergrad, my last year on the west coast, when perhaps the best thing to do would be to just not think about it.
our time is running out
