I bought a new laptop from Dell this morning, after about two months of deliberation. I decided, in the end, to go with a comparatively cheap Dell machine, and use the rest of the money for a XBox 360 at some point, and perhaps down the road, an iMac. My thought is that I essentially want to read PDFs and run Firefox, so why overburden myself with the gaming laptop?
That said, due to the age of my current system, the Dell will have three times the RAM, so... huh.
Anyway, now comes the fun, but odd part - I have to get all the programs together I need to arm said laptop with, such as Avast! and whatnot, but more importantly I have to decide critical questions about my new, two-tiered computer system setup, such as "Do I want to transfer my iTunes library over? I am kind of sick of using iTunes in the pink scheme that it has decided to adopt, but transferring libraries is such a pain in the ass.", and other important questions like that.
Well, with luck, I'll have it on Friday. Part of the reason I wanted a laptop was so that I don't have to carry D&D books back and forth each week. With extreme luck, it will come on Wednesday, when I'm home, so that I can open it on the spot!
Nothing brings quite so much glee as a new toy. It's even better when it's expensive too!
