O Allah. You have chosen me. If this is a punishment, I seek your Maghfirah (Forgiveness) Ya Rahman Ya Rahim Ya Ghaffar. If this is a test for me, then help me be patient and grant me patience and I seek Your Mardhatillah (The Pleasure of Allah Subhanahu wata'ala) in my struggle to be patient and to please you.

Tonight, after the longest time, I was told that my tajwid in recitation is in dire danger. Throughout the class, I was semi-paying attention and semi-zoning out. Before this, I was quite confident of my recitation. But I knew that my weakness was complacency. I just didn't realize how huge it was- until tonight.
