"Kanaaaaaaaaya..."
A strained, wet-sounding voice came suddenly out of the living room of the trolls' shared hivestem. Kanaya was in the kitchen by herself, chopping vegetables in preparation for dinner when she heard what sounded like Vriska calling her name -- which is beyond strange. She could've sworn her hivemate was still in the bedroom, watching TV or something. Setting the knife down, the virgo slowly turns around to crane her neck over the breakfast bar.
Even though she didn't even hear the door click open, a familiar form was huddled over the couch. The follicles on the back of Kanaya's neck stood up as she squinted her eyes -- her friend seemed bluer than usual.
"Vriska?"
The other troll raises her head, scraggly blood-caked hair draping over her shoulders as more syrupy blue blood drains out of her left eye socket, looking directly at Kanaya. "You let me diiiiiiiie, you fucking bitch! You just stood there and let me get caaaaaaaaved into the ground by Aradia. What the fuck is wrong with you?"
Kanaya nervously bared her teeth, readying an array of apologies for her arachnid friend. Worry was written all over her face as she quickly dashed to the other side of the counter over to Vriska, carefully stepping over the puddles of blood that had pooled on the floor in a trail leading from the balcony. "W-what happened to you?"
The blue-blooded troll shakily rose to her feet, where it became quickly apparent that her mechanical arm had been ripped off. More of the azure liquid sloshed through broken-off metal tubes, ends of exposed wires crackling with sparks. Her clothing and hair were singed. "Didn't I just fucking tell you? And you didn't do a damn thing to stop it. You're the shittiest moirail ever, I don't know why I ever talked to you about anyth--"
"V-Vriska, I... I wasn't even there, I-- I'll get you cleaned up, just-- just sit d--" Eyes welling up with clear green tears, Kanaya gently touches the other girl's shoulder in attempt to get her to sit back down -- after all that blood loss, she shouldn't be standing up in the first place! -- and froze.
That brief moment of physical contact was all it took. The troll's pupils shrunk to pinpoints, head thrown back as she stares up at nothing for a few seconds. Fingers twitch, then go limp -- and the rest of her body follows.
'Vriska' looks down at the unconscious heap of troll on the floor. After prodding her with a blue-smeared red shoe, she -- and all the blood she had so rudely tracked around the living room -- vanishes without a trace, leaving only a rapidly-disappearing wisp of dark, shadowy smoke behind.
