(no subject)
So. Thursday was my birthday. I wore my Mello costume to class since the previous week I had mentioned that I own a bunch of wigs since I cosplay, to which my classmates and teacher responded that they hadn't sen me in a wig, so I should wear one to class. Plus, I was planning to wear that costume anyway since I later went to see Death Note II: The Last Name at The Commons. My sister tagged along, and Ayaa and Mina showed up as L and Near.
All the fangirls from the first movie showings must have collectively decided to go to The Commons for the second movie, since people at other theaters said that their showings were pretty well-behaved. The theater I was at had many loud comments on Rem's dub sex change, plus cheering every time L showed up, and fangirlish noises at every subtext-y exchange between Light and L. I wasn't annoyed by all of that, since I had seen the movie subtitled already and was expecting to lulz at the dub. I had quite a few snarky comments of my own, but I held back. and I need to make the Death Note movies the new Rocky Horror. We'll have midnight showings and wear costumes and yell things at opportune moments.
After the movie, we encounted cosplay fangirls in the hall. I made my sister take this picture.
Part of me hopes that they put L: Change the WorLd in theaters. Because that movie kind of sucks, but in a lulzy way. Then more people will know wtf I'm talking about when I mention L's pink crepes-mobile.
After class on Friday, I met up with hazel_secretsdowntown to be dragged all over existance. We stopped by the convention center so I could have a crepe for lunch, then we headed up to Northgate with the intent of visiting Pacific Fabrics, but ended up stopping by Yuki and Roy's apartment first. We eventually got around to looking at fabric, then went to Display and Costume where I found the pink parasol to make my Lero. From there, Michi and I headed back to Seattle so we could take another bus to White Center so she could pick up costume stuff from Bre's place. By the time we got back to my house, it was around 7pm. Bear in mind that I had left for class around 6:30am.
Michi spent the night at my house so she could be harassed by my sister and puppy. On Saturday, we got a ride up to Gasukan from my mom [after I managed to spill spirit gum all over the counter in my bathroom]. I cosplayed Jasdero from D.Gray-man, and later changed into lolita!Allen Walker. Changing costumes in a restroom stall was interesting. Especially considering how much make-up I had to remove and then apply using only a three inch mirror propped up on the toilet paper dispenser. I enjoyed the reactions my costumes got from people. Except for the creepy shirtless guy that approached me when I was posing for photos with punmasta.
My Debitto wasn't able to make it, so I'm going to have to drag her off for photos some other time. I couldn't be disappointed about people not making it to this month's Gasukan after last month's, where we had a grand total of about 20 people show up, and not even all at the same time. I definately enjoyed this month's, I just wish that I could have gone to hang out with people to drink bubble tea and whatnot afterwards. Hopefully I'll be going to the DoL tomorrow, so if all things go as planned then I'll be getting my license within the next month or so, and I'll no longer have to rely on the bus and getting rides from people.

Sunday was the Sakura-Con general meeting, which was pretty uneventful for me. I wore my new Deitrich wig just for the hell of it.
Today I finally found a room for Aki-Con. Now I just have to convince my parents to pay for it. I didn't ask for any birthday presents from them specifically because I would rather be able to go to cons [plus, the stuff I REALLY want is more expensive that they'd probably want to pay for a birthday present]. So I'm going to be pretty emo if they decide that I don't get belated presents or to go to Aki-Con.
