I don't think I've updated for nearly a month. Here it is in a nutshell:
- Gordon conference went much better than expected. Returned to Cleveland newly inspired to produce data. Plus the next conference will be in France. I'd be OK with going to that one!
- Spent the next 2 weeks scrambling for data for my committee meeting, which I knew was imminent, but had not yet been scheduled. Nothing like having a huge deadline looming over you, yet you don't know exactly when it is!
- Found out the date of my committee meeting with less than 8 days' notice. Which would be fine except my committee likes the writeup a week ahead. Wrote it frantically in one night. And it doesn't suck--yay!
- After turning in the report, went to work on the presentation. Will go over it with the boss tomorrow. Then just a few more days and it will be over. This will definitely be the highest-pressure meeting I've had so far, and I'm hoping it will go well and take some pressure off for the next one.
- Haven't been going to meetings or events or IM-ing or fencing or much of anything else SCA-related. Sometimes it's nice to take a break! I've rediscovered some deeply neglected interests, such as quilting (finally designed and bought fabric for an overdue baby quilt for my nephew) and classical music (which has been my constant companion while preparing for my committee meeting).
- Oh, I had a birthday...turned 27! I got everything I wanted...time in lab, time out of lab, great gifts, great company, and dinner at the Cheesecake Factory.
I am currently enjoying Dr. G, Medical Examiner on the Discovery channel. A thinks it's crazy that I love to watch this show. How can it be crazy to see how people solve the mysteries of how people die by using logic and science and medicine? I think it's AWESOME. So there.
