i love drama in my life.... j-dorama that is.
a while back i picked a dorama at random from crunchyroll's mega huge index called "meguri ai," or "refrain. " it happened to be a dorama from 1998 with one of my favorite actresses, tokiwa takako. she was in "beautiful life." her face is really animated n pretty. she's got this mischievous bubbly side that she brings to her characters.
it's just so awesome that i found one of her earlier doramas soooo randomly. the show was okay. not amazing. but it was interesting how it spanned practically a decade. it follows a couple as they reminisce about their old romances.
so i finished that dorama n decided the next one i'd watch would have takako in it too. i picked the one she did right after "beautiful life." called "long love letter." i figured from the title it would be your average romantic comedy, but it's way more sci-fi than that.
anyways.... there are high school students in this dorama. one from "koi ga shitai." the other one is yamapi, who i just saw in "nobuta wo produce," a fun dorama i watched before "meguri ai."
it's just trippy to me how often these actors and actresses work together. so that random selections of dorama-viewing will make it possible to play an easy game of six degrees. i mean... i just watched two doramas... n actors from the two are in the current one i'm watching now.
"long love letter" aired in 2002... 4 years after "meguri ai." and takako was still playing the same age, as was yamapi. they don't look like they aged much at all. craaaaaaaazy. haha.
