Photos of trees

Ask anyone, I almost always have a camera on me. I don't think I am very good at taking photos but I enjoy it as a hobby.

Here are a few photos where I have gotten lucky enough to get a compelling image.

I don't really have any specific guiding philosophy when I take photos. I like shadows and lighting, and I like asymmetrical balance. That's about it...

I took this is September of 2006. Me and some friends had just left this houseparty and decided to take a walk in the woods. I think that the reflection is what makes this photo work. It is smooth enough that at first glance, the water looks like the sky so you have this disorienting effect of looking down but seeing an upwards view.

Now, I really love this one. I took this Valentines Day last year on a walk back to my rez. It was a snowday, real big storm the previous night, and it was absolutely freezing cold outside. As I was walking I noticed the snow blow off of the trees and I thought it looked absolutely beautiful. So I took out my camera and waited for another gust of wind to come by. I waited and waited until finally a gust came by and I took a photo at the exact right second. My God it was cold, I couldn't feel my hands after this. But it was worth it. Probably the best photo I have ever taken.

Took this at Webster Falls a couple weeks ago while on a date. Really unintentional spur of the moment type photo. I just included it because it was my first attempt at digital LSR and I find that it really turned out lovely.

Well, there you have it. Some of my best photos. I have some photos I like from in the city but I just decided to make a post of the more pastoral and natural photos I've taken. Comments are appreciated.
