I was actually thinking Silent Hill when I first saw it. The Hospital on campus is even more weird then my dorm. If there weren't signs everywhere saying it was a hospital you would think it was some big industrial complex.
It is a real nuclear reactor, yes. It isn't used for power, just research.

It all makes sense - the hidden passages, the doors/stariways going everywhere, and, most importantly, the hideous freaky leg monster thing
