Slice of Life #1

So I'm hoping that pretty soon things are going to start turning around for me. I've got two job prospects on the horizon. Most of you know about the DMV. I feel pretty confident that I aced the exam they had me take; at most, I think I missed two. However, there were 300 other people in that auditorium with me and I'm sure there are some that did just as well as I did. Just have to hope that they aren't from around here haha. The other opportunity is for a significantly less amount than what the DMV pays but it is in the IT field. It's for an auto auction out in Riverside. Heard about it through a friend of Oden's. He said she'll let him know when to tell me to go in and apply. If I haven't heard from the DMV by then I'll go for it.

Filled out my FASFA for Fall semester. Because I turn 24 in the fall I'm considered an independent and thusly was not required to include my mother's income on my application. I'm currently estimated to receive 3,700 per semester which would be awesome.

My final for CISCO-3 is tomorrow night. I hate studying for this class. I love networking and I enjoy DOING it; however, I do not enjoy reading about it nor taking theory tests on it. BLAH! However passing it means moving on to CISCO-4 and after that I can finally take my CCNA exam which will be awesome. Financial struggles will be significantly lessened by the job opportunities that will present themselves. Not to mention the unemployment rate for my industry is less than 2%. May 8th/9th is my last day and it is approaching fast thankfully. I'll probably spend a month studying for the exam and take it in the beginning of June. Exam costs $250 so it's not something I want to take more than once.

Running is going well. I'm at 12 miles in 57 minutes. Granted it's on an elliptical not out on the streets but I'm still happy with my progress. I've lost 30 lbs since November. My starting weight was 300 so I'm at 270 and I want to be 230 by July 1st (SarahStrauss' wedding). 40 lbs to go. I'm hoping Operation Eye-Candy is a huge success. Just have to keep at it.

I'm going to try and update my LJ more often. Current goal is at least once a week. Lets see how that works out.
